Kelly Wearstler is an American interior designer and the founder of her eponymous multidisciplinary studio. For more than three decades, her practice has moved across private residences, hotels, restaurants, workplaces, product collections, editorial work, creative direction and brand partnerships.

Her work is recognised for bringing seemingly opposing conditions into the same composition: rough and refined surfaces, historic references and contemporary art, strong geometry and expressive colour. Rather than applying a fixed house style, the studio describes each commission as a response to its particular place, people, history and patterns of use.

The studio’s hospitality work demonstrates how this method adapts to different cities and buildings. Santa Monica Proper draws on the California coast through weathered woods, patinated metals, vintage furnishings and a relaxed indoor–outdoor sensibility. Austin Proper responds to local Craftsman traditions through white oak, stained glass, leather, stone and locally collected art and ceramics.

Across these projects, locality is not treated as a decorative theme but as a source for materials, collaborators, atmosphere and narrative.

## 持续演进的多学科实践A Multidisciplinary Contemporary Practice
