Henry Lamp transforms a familiar architectural component into a sculptural interior light. Paris-based designer Clément Pasquier turns industrial glass blocks—normally used to bring daylight through walls—into a vertical object illuminated from within.
01 · 从建筑立面到室内灯具
玻璃砖曾被现代主义建筑师用于兼顾采光、隐私与结构秩序。Henry Lamp 延续这种建筑记忆，却改变了光线的方向：光不再穿过外墙进入室内，而是从砖体内部向外扩散。
From façade to interior light. Glass blocks were embraced by modernist architects for their balance of daylight, privacy and structural rhythm. Henry Lamp retains that memory while reversing the direction of light: illumination now radiates outward from inside the blocks.
02 · 玻璃内部的光学层次
每块玻璃砖由压制成型的半壳高温熔合而成，内部空腔、模压纹理与玻璃厚度共同改变光线。灯具点亮后，亮度在不同深度之间折射和散射；观看者移动时，光场也会随角度变化。
Optical depth inside the glass. Each block is formed from pressed glass shells fused at high temperature. Its cavity, moulded texture and material thickness redirect the light together, producing a luminous field that changes as the viewer moves.
建筑构件不再只是承载光线，而成为光线本身。
The architectural component no longer carries light—it becomes the light.
03 · 工业材料的真实痕迹
设计采用法国 La Rochère 重新生产的工业玻璃砖，而不是复制玻璃砖的视觉效果。轻微的绿色、模具接缝和制造差异被保留下来，使生产过程成为作品的一部分。
Visible traces of production. The lamp uses industrial blocks reissued by the French glassmaker La Rochère. A faint green tint, mould seams and subtle variations remain visible, allowing the manufacturing process to become part of the object.
04 · 在灯具与建筑之间
关闭时，Henry Lamp 像一段独立的玻璃砖墙或小型纪念碑；点亮后，暖色光线削弱了玻璃与金属的重量感。它既是功能照明，也是划分空间、建立视觉焦点的发光构件。
Between lamp and architecture. Switched off, the object resembles a freestanding fragment of glass-block wall. Illuminated, its warm glow softens the visual weight of glass and metal, turning it into both lighting and a spatial focal point.
05 · 现代主义材料的当代表达
作品让人联想到 Maison de Verre 等以玻璃砖塑造空间的现代主义建筑，但它并非缩小建筑立面，而是重新思考材料与光源之间的关系。最终呈现的是一件兼具建筑尺度感、工业质感与居住氛围的当代灯具。
A contemporary reading of a modernist material. The work recalls interiors such as Maison de Verre without merely reducing a façade to furniture scale. It reconsiders the relationship between material and light source, combining architectural presence, industrial character and domestic atmosphere.
